I would have posted before now but I’ve been a little busy, alright, obsessed with Instagram. Sooo distracting, but so much fun. Have you checked out the Interiors Photo Month challenge yet? Do. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to share more wallpaper favourites. You may remember back in 2010 I wallpapered my loo with a stunning floral pattern called Bindi from the Eijffinger range. And I can honestly say that apart from my initial apprehension, it has brought a smile to my face every day, in fact, several times a day. I just love it. Especially with my little blue cupboard hanging on the wall. This photos does it no justice.

But I love so many of the papers in the Eiffinger range. In fact ‘love’ doesn’t’ really explain the depth of my feeling. And it’s not just the wall paper, it’s the styling generally. I drool over every single vignette/image. Here are just some of my favourites…

OK, I am totally cheating today. The weather is miserable and lighting so poor that I had no luck at all with the photos I took. I did try! I figured the next best thing was to post a photo of my home, even if I didn’t take it today. Even better, this one covers both topics for today, Old and Bargain (Bargain is actually day 3, but I’m making up for lost time remember). I think it’s French but I bought this canister at a little antique shop in Ireland, so it better be old, and yes, it was a bargain, I think.

July – Interiors photo month

Today I’m joining this photo a day challenge. I read about this fun idea, adapted by Jen Bishop at Interiors addict, at Kara Rosenlund’s blog. And I’m adapting it a bit further. The original idea is that you take a shot of whatever is listed for that day of the month, and share it on instagram. Firstly, I’m late, (if you too can hear my sons growling, ‘what’s new?’, just ignore them), so I will start at no 10 (it’s 10 July) but I’ll also take a photo of no 1. I’ll double up daily until I catch up. Make sense? Secondly, I have already wasted so much time trying to figure out instagram (yes, I am challenged in certain areas, but don’t get my sons started on that …) that I’m going to post my photos on My Pink Door. Thirdly, I think I’ll take the photos with my camera not my phone as I really need the practice. My camera is a little dusty.

What about you? Think this would be fun? Well then, do join in!

Pretty Patterned Wallpaper

I am probably pretty predictable with my pattern preferences (say that 10 times quickly!), so it’s no surprise that I adore this wallpaper. And the stairs. I just love the darkly stained worn or chiselled softness of the tread and the painted white riser. I’ ve had this image stored on my computer for ages but of course sourcing web photos is not my strong point. I must get better at it so I can share more images. However, I managed to figure out that this paper is part of Les Indiennes Collection for IVM Prints.

Don’t be surprised at the absence of pink or blue. Yes I’m instinctively drawn to colour (okay, pink and blue), I find it joyful and uplifting, but I also love lots of white and touches of black, and brown. I find them grounding and soothing. It’s just that I don’t tend to use them exclusively. In this case I’d make an exception.
