Down Memory Lane

I must be feeling homesick.  I thought I was coming home, and I was, but I also left my home behind.  A home in which I spent over a decade, raised a family (well two thirds of a family), and lovingly created.  It was a great house – and so are the memories.

Anyway, isn’t it funny how some things that look so good in one house just don’t work in the next. Like this quilt I made last year.  I just loved this quilt. I loved making it, looking at it, sleeping under it, and looking at it some more…  It’s now folded in the cupboard.  Maybe it will look good in the next house (except that I’m never moving again).

I’m not sure why I started in the bedroom, but while we’re here…

and while we’re still upstairs – I LOVED my bathroom …

We may as well go downstairs …

to the kitchen

and the living room …

finishing up with the dining room/entrance …

It was a good house, a very good house.

Vintage Suzani Bedspread

I’ve been meaning to take photos of my new, well not so newish anymore, Suzani bedspread for a while now.  I’ve been waiting 1. til my bedroom is presentable and 2. for a nice sunny day.  Well I’ve given up on the weather (I did not move back to Queensland for grey skies!) but I’ve cleaned up my room and took some pictures anyway.

I found this quilt at Table Tonic a few months ago and just had to have it.  I knew it would give my room the lift it needed.  I’d decided to use a little more black in this house and the quilt just carries it through perfectly.

As you may have begun to notice, I’m rather addicted to flower patterns, motifs, paintings and of course the real thing.  I can’t get enough …

A closer sqwizz at some of my tidbits …

a closer …
